Alerting Hepatologist

Acute liver injury has been reported in individuals who have recently ingested the food prep entitled “French Lentil + Leek Crumbles”  manufactured by Daily Harvestã (https://www.daily-harvest.com/content/french-lentil-leek-crumbles-advisory#). Typically, symptoms occur 4 to 6 hours after ingestion of this specific prepared food consisting of severe abdominal pain, nausea, fatigue, which may be associated with features of acute liver injury including new onset jaundice with elevated transaminases in a pattern typical seen with an acute viral hepatitis. The manufacturer has indicated that tara flour may be in part responsible for the injury observed but studies are ongoing.

The Drug Induced Liver Injury Network (DILIN) is interested in enrolling patients with liver injury due to this agent as part of its on-going studies to understand liver injury due to medications or dietary supplements. Subjects who may have had liver injury related to ingestion of  “French Lentil + Leek Crumbles”  manufactured by Daily Harvestã are encouraged to contact the PI or Study Coordinators at those  DILIN Clinical Centers  listed below.
